The Lone Star Cowboy Church recognizes the need for accessible covered arena facilities in Ellis and surrounding counties. Our covered arena offers year-round riding opportunities, ideal for preparing for jackpots or fine-tuning your horse.
Practice Fee:
$10 per horse
Just Need to Ride?
If you’re not practicing but still want to ride, it’s $10 per horse. Please be considerate of those practicing during this time.
Arena Hours:
Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Hours:
- Open: 2nd week of January to 3rd week of May
- Closed: 1st week of July to 1st week of September
- Open: 2nd week of September to 3rd week of November
- Closed: 4th week of November
- Open: 1st week of December to 3rd week December
- Closed: 4th week of December to 1st week of January
Exceptions:
The arena is not available on Friday nights if there is a church event or Federal holiday. Please follow updates on our Lone Star Cowboy Church Arena Group Page on Facebook. If you don’t use Facebook, call before you haul. Contact Tinker Files at (469) 358-2424 for any arena-related questions.
Requirements:
Current Coggins: A current Coggins test is mandatory. Horses without one cannot be on church property.
No dogs: No dogs are allowed except for service dogs.
Additional Requirements:
- Do not attend if you have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19.
- Do not attend if you have had a temperature over 100.4°F (38°C) or have been sick in the last week.
- Do not attend if you have traveled outside of Texas.
- If you are 65 or older with health issues, prioritize your safety and participate at your own risk.
- We encourage wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet of distance.
- Check your temperature before arriving; do not attend if it exceeds the range: Adults/Children: 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C).
- Failure to meet any of these requirements will prohibit participation in activities at the Lone Star Cowboy Church Arena.
Weather Conditions:
In case of severe weather (e.g., tornado, ice storm, flooding), practices or events will be canceled. Stay updated via our Lone Star Cowboy Church Arena Group page on Facebook. If you do not use social media, call before you haul.
